The Reed Avocado is known to be the largest variety of avocado. The round fruit is roughly the size of a softball and can regularly weigh more than a pound. Its green, slightly pebbled thick skin is easy to peel, and its flesh is pale golden-yellow.

The Reed Avocado has a relatively large seed and seed cavity. However, its large size allows it to still carry a plentiful amount of edible flesh. The flavor is rich, bold, and nutty, and the texture is buttery.
