Pears-Bartlett

Bartlett pears are large to medium in size and are the only pears with an actual pear shape, with a rounded large bottom half and taper to a smaller neck with a brown stem. The skin lightens as it ripens, changing from green to a golden yellow, and is firm, smooth, and thick with some blushing.

The flesh is moist, aromatic, cream-colored to ivory, and fine-grained, encasing a central core containing tiny, blackish-brown seeds. When mature but not fully ripe, the Bartlett pear is crunchy, tart, and slightly gritty, but when fully ripe, they develop a juicy, smooth, buttery texture with a sweet flavor.
