Banana peppers have a banana-like shape and average 6 inches in length. Their color is yellow, turning to orange, and then to crimson red, as they mature. They are tangy, slightly sweet, and mild.

It is regularly eaten on pizza, on sandwiches, in Greek salads, or stuffed with meat and/or cheese. They also add a bit of sweetness to salsa, while other peppers add the heat.
